Kuala Lumpur, 23 March | A lucky pair of father and son from Sri Kembangan, Selangor, won the Big Sweep First Prize worth RM3 million.
At the Big Sweep Draw 4/17, drawn on 19 March 2017, the First Prize ticket, 2188013, was sold out in Sri Kembangan, Selangor.
The lucky winners, a 60+ year old man and his son, presented themselves at the Big Sweep office to claim their prize.
When the father handed over the winning ticket to Big Sweep officials, he told them that it has been his habit to buy Big Sweep tickets.
Friendship with ticket seller
Both of them have a habit of buying several Big Sweep tickets each draw andthe father would safe keep the tickets until the results day.
The father shared that from his habit of buying Big Sweep tickets, he became friends with the Indian ticket seller who usually makes his rounds at the various restaurants near his home.
Initially, due to language barrier, they had relied on simple hand gestures to communicate. But now that they are friends, they could converse using simple words from their respective languages. He said that he has been sympathetic and has admired the ticket seller’s perseverance, for despite lacking education he did not rely on others but instead earn an income to provide for his family by selling Big Sweep tickets.
Their friendship brought them good fortune, whereby the father and son won the First Prize of RM3 million and the ticket seller earned more winning commission.
The RM1 million Second Prize ticket, 4644487, was sold out in Kepong, Kuala Lumpur. The Jackpot prize which was not won has accumulated to RM1.5 million for the next draw.
Big Sweep Draw 5/17 will be drawn on 9 April 2017 at Perak Turf Club.
